Having a vision for the next 25 years is about exchanging what matters, trading not just in goods, but going beyond to exchanging things we both value, health, culture, environment and multiculturalism. As our world gets closer together, let it also get much much better.

Interesting video. Indeed that Canada has many values that it can export to Asia. The next question is how do we go about doing this most effectively. Perhaps the best way of doing so is through an indirect route; for us young Canadians to come to the continent, and live, work, play, and breathe the same air as our Asian brethren. By experiencing who they are, we not only achieve a better perspective of what they may perceive as 'value', but also gain their friendship and respect.
A Canadian student who chooses to live in a remote village in India to teach English has done as much good as any academic or diplomat who makes a formal speech about cultural integration. With the former, he or she has influenced a group of children who’ve personally learned Canadian values through their interactions with the foreign teacher, and for some of these students this effect with carry on with them for the rest of their lives. Perhaps one child will end up migrating to Canada after learning to love such values, and starts a business that employs hundreds of Canadian workers. Or perhaps the Canadian value of ethnic tolerance has inspired a child not to hate his neighbor just because she is from a different caste. The social implications are limitless.
So to my fellow Canadian expatriates in Asia and around the world, I salute you. The relationships we have developed in our respective countries have provided one of the most influential representations our country can ever have.
